As an Automation Specialist – Energy, you’ll be part of a dynamic team of about 30 employees. You will be involved in the design of automated systems based on technical specifications, drawings and technical diagrams, in compliance with industry norms and standards. You will also be responsible for the start-up and commissioning of automated energy and sawing equipment directly at the customer’s site.

Main responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Automation Manager, you will be required to:

• Be a technical reference for automation in the energy sector
• Design and program automated systems (simple or complex) on various types of PLC and HMI.
• You may also be required to work on our sawing systems as needed
• Install and troubleshoot automated systems
• Participate in system commissioning at customer sites
• Occasionally perform electrical engineering design
• Produce technical documents relating to automated system maintenance
• Ensure that the systems sold are functional in the production context and meet our customers’ expectations.

Qualifications required

• College diploma in Industrial Electronics or Electrical Engineering, specializing in automation, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of power system automation

 Skills and competencies

• Knowledge of Rockwell products (Allen-Bradley)
• Knowledge of SQL databases.
• Knowledge of Wonderware HMI is an asset.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
• Good problem-solving skills and enjoys challenges
• Knowledge of basic computer systems
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good knowledge of spoken and written French and English
• Willingness to travel for short periods (1 to 2 weeks) and, if necessary, be able to obtain a valid passport.

Salary : 90k – 115k annual
